(4/2022) Liberty Police Seek Cruiser Grant

The Liberty Police Department is in the process of applying for a federal grant for a new police cruiser, according to Chief Sherri Hansen.

Number crunching is currently underway, and the application is expected to be submitted before the end of the month, she said.

As Liberty provides police protection to Highland and Freedom townships as well, letters of support will be requested from those supervisors, Hansen said.

"Hopefully, that will give us a little bit of an edge there," she said, noting that, "Anytime you can get collaboration between several different municipalities or entities it raises the stock of your current application a little bit."

Community Mailbox Light Installed

The new light fixture to help brighten the Fairfield Borough community mailbox has been installed and illuminates to council satisfaction.

"It’s not overpowering," Council Member Dean Thomas said.

Highway Cleanup

Hamiltonban’s 17th annual Highway Cleanup will take place April 23rd. The cleanup is part of the Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful organization and its Great America Cleanup program.

All necessary materials will be provided to ensure a sparkling clean neighborhood, including gloves, reflective vests, and trash bags. Kite Day

Kite Day will be held at the Hamiltonban Community Park April 23 from 10 to 2 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to grab a kite and let it soar. Refreshments will be available.

Art Exhibition at Carroll Valley

Carroll Valley Borough Office will welcome student artists of the community with the first annual Fairfield Area School District Art Exhibition.

Starting May 1 throughout the month, the Carroll Valley Borough Office will showcase student artwork of Fairfield Area High School and Middle School. An artist’s reception will be held May 6 from 4 to 6 p.m.
