Mr. Scott Thomas McNair, 93, of
N. Seton Ave., Emmitsburg, died
Wednesday, April 21, at Gettysburg
Hospital, Gettysburg, Pa.
Born Jan. 3, 1911, in
Pennsylvania, he was a son of the
late Scott Hiram and Marion Gelwicks
McNair.
He was the husband of Frances
Elsie Shriner McNair, his wife of 63
years, who died Aug. 30, 1998.
He was a member of
Incarnation United Church of
Christ, Emmitsburg.
He was a dairy and beef farmer
all his life.
Surviving are three children,
Shirley Gelwicks of Hanover, Pa.,
Rodney McNair and wife Sarah of
Emmitsburg, and Joan Bankard of
Emmitsburg; six grandchildren, Wanda
Seitz, whom he and his wife raised,
of Westminster, Theresa Wantz, Terry
McNair and Tammy Bankard of
Emmitsburg, and Lisa Miller and Dale
Ellen Gelwicks of Hanover; five
great-grandchildren; and a number of
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two
sisters, Margaret McNair and Mary D.
Welty; and two brothers, Gelwicks
McNair and Robert McNair.
His caregivers were Val Redding,
Benay Bair and Amy Albaugh.
Funeral services will be held at
10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at
Incarnation United Church of Christ,
Emmitsburg, with his pastor, the
Rev. Ted Haas, officiating.
Interment will be in Emmitsburg
Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may
call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April
23, at Skiles Funeral Home, 210 W.
Main St., Emmitsburg.
