Mr. David Bushman Sr.

Mr. David (Hap) Rodman Bushman Sr., 68, of Waynesboro Rd., Emmitsburg, Md., died Wednesday, September 27, at his residence.

Born October 8, 1937, in Emmitsburg, he was a son of the late Charles Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Portner Bushman.

Surviving is his wife, Cheryl Darlene (Shriner) Bushman, whom he married February 23, 1962.

He was a member of Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church, Emmitsburg; a former member of Vigilant Hose Co., Emmitsburg; a former member of V.F.W., Emmitsburg; and was involved in Emmitsburg Little League for 40 years. He worked at the Emmitsburg Vet. Hospital for 52 years.

Also surviving are three children, Pamela L. Bushman and Ed Williams of Surfside, S.C., David R. Bushman Jr. of Emmitsburg and Robin D. Black and husband Eric of Sabillasville; seven grandchildren, Michael L. Pees Jr. of Laseyville, Pa., Bradley S. Pees of Surfside, S.C., William J. Pees of Surfside, S.C., Jesse R. Bushman of Fayetteville, Pa., James R. Bushman of Emmitsburg, Sarah A. Topper of Sabillasville and Cody Topper of Sabillasville; one great-grandson, Michael S. Pees of Laseyville, Pa.; and five brothers and sisters, Helen E. Carico of Baltimore, Charles W. "Bo" Bushman Jr. and wife Sylvia of Emmitsburg, Thomas L. Bushman and wife Marlene of Waynesboro, Pa., Mae J. Brown of Hagerstown and George Greg Bushman and wife Cecila of Hagerstown.

He was predeceased by a sister, Anna Louie Bushman, three nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 30, at 11 a.m. from Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 North Ave., Emmitsburg, with his pastor, the Rev. Jon Greenstone, officiating. Internment will be in Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
