 Mr. Richard Myers

Mr. Richard H. "Dick" Myers, 71, of N. Seton Ave., Emmitsburg, Md., died Monday, March 20, at his residence.  Born January 9, 1935 in Emmitsburg, Md., he was a son of the late Edward L. and Ada G. Ashbaugh Myers.  Dick is survived by his wife Marianne Gochenour Myers.

Mr. Myers proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force. Dick retired from the grounds crew at St. Joseph's Provincial House after 20 years of service.

A member of V.F.W. Post 6658 of Emmitsburg, and worked for many years at the K. of C. Brute Council 1860 in Emmitsburg, Md. He loved working with his flowers and garden.

He loved NASCAR racing and spending time with his family.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Richard Myers and wife Joan of Fairfield, Pa., and Fred Myers of Emmitsburg; one daughter, Pauline Engelstatter and husband Harold of Fairfield; a step-son, Robert A. Dick and wife Judy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a step-daughter, Debora Sanders of Emmitsburg; two grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. His "best buddy" was great-grandson Wayne Wivell Jr. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Edward Eugene Myers of Emmitsburg, Margaret Myers and husband Robert of Emmitsburg, Doris Forney and husband Kenny of Taneytown, Ann Hamburg and husband Sonny of Taneytown, Linda Henning and husband Mike of Hagerstown, Jack Myers of Taneytown, Donnie Myers and wife Linda of Fairfield, Sterling "Butch" Myers of Hanover, Pa.

He was preceded in death by a sister Madelyn Myers; and a brother, Terry Lee Myers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Emmitsburg, Md., with the Rev. Stephen P. Trzecieski, C.M., as the celebrant.

Interment will be in the new St. Joseph's Cemetery, Emmitsburg, Md.
