Mrs.
Charlotte Kea Thompson
Mrs.
Charlotte Kea Thompson, 82, of Thurmont,
died Saturday, September 9, 2006, at the
Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the
loving wife of the late Thaddeus Richard
Thompson, who died June 1997.
Born August 1, 1924, in Thurmont, she was
a daughter of the late Charles and Elsie
McAfee Harmon.
Mrs. Thompson graduated from Emmitsburg
High School in 1941 and Strayers Business
College in 1942. She was a devoted wife,
mother, homemaker and greatly enjoyed her
grandchildren. She was an accomplished
quilt maker and liked researching her
family genealogy. She also loved her
church family where she was an active
member and organist of the Thurmont
Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are four children, Michael A.
Thompson and wife Dianna Hawkins of
Hanover, Bernard C. Thompson and wife
Rebecca of Frederick, Raymond E. Thompson
and wife Lucinda of Thurmont and Rita E.
King and husband James of Columbia;
grandchildren, Sean Thompson, Craig
Thompson, Brian Thompson, Renae Campbell,
Laura Osori, Derrick Thompson, Matthew
Thompson, Asa Brown, Christina King,
Ashley King and Bradley King;
great-grandchildren, Amber Thompson,
Brendan Thompson, Annie Thompson, Mia
Thompson, Ben Thompson and Jack Campbell;
and one sister, Marian H. Kelly of
Dunkirk, Indiana.
In addition to her husband and parents,
she was preceded in death by five
sisters, Edna Anders, Belva Welch, Hazel
Baker, Gertrude Miller and Helen Mumma,
and four brothers, Ralph Harmon, Howard
Harmon, Morris Harmon and Kenneth Harmon.
Mrs. Thompson is at the Robert E. Dailey
and Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 615 East
Main Street, Thurmont, where friends may
call from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday, September
11. The family will receive friends
Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
funeral home.
On Tuesday, September 12, Mrs. Thompson
will be removed to the Thurmont Church of
the Brethren, 14 North Altamont Avenue,
Thurmont, where she will repose from 9 to
10 a.m. at which time services will begin
with her pastor the Reverend Linda
Lambert officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Carmel
Cemetery, Thurmont.
