Geraldine Marie Hewitt, age 70, of Emmitsburg, died peacefully Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Gettysburg Hospital Center in Gettysburg, PA. Born November 23, 1941 in Emmitsburg, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Marie Anders Little. She was the wife of Monroe Hewitt, her husband of 49 years.
Geraldine was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg. She was an Avon representative in the community for 40 years. She enjoyed family get-togethers, vacationing at Wildwood, NJ, and playing poker with family members and friends. She was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter, Michele Orndorff and husband, Tommy, of Emmitsburg; son, Scott Hewitt and wife, Michelle, of Thurmont; sisters, Mary Jean Orndorff and husband, Buzz, of Emmitsburg, Joyce Grimm of Thurmont, Joan Smith and husband, Dave of Emmitsburg, Carolyn Smith and husband, Karl, of Thurmont, Beth Terry and
husband, Leonard, of Oakland, and Elaine Ebaugh and husband, Denny, of Emmitsburg; brothers, Leon Anders and wife, Sandy, of Taneytown, Larry Little and wife, Shirley, of Emmitsburg, and Dave Little and wife, Charlene, of Emmitsburg; grandchildren, Jaime Orndorff, Cameron and Shayne Hewitt, Mackenzie Orndorff, and Brooke Hewitt; as well as many
nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St, Emmitsburg, MD, with the Rev. Stephen Trzecieski as celebrant. Interment will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery.
