Town Manager's Report
January  2007

Streets:

• Staff repaired a number of street and stop signs

• Staff has repaired a number of street lights

• Staff salted a number of icy spots around Town

• Staff took down the holiday decorations from the Community Center and Main Street

• Staff started on the temporary sidewalk repairs on Main Street

Water:

• As the lake water has cooled staff has discontinued the injection of coagulant treatment at Well #3 and the plant is operating well

• The roughing filters are being backwashed once everyday and the DE filters are  being done once every week

• All plant and equipment maintenance is underway and should be completed in the next few weeks

• Water production and consumption.  We produced and purchased an average of 305,010 gpd.  We consumed an average of 284,923 gpd.

  • The difference is "Backwash Water" ...(6.60%).   We purchased 560,800 gals. of water from MSM this month.

  • 44.0% of this water came from wells 

  •  5.9% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's

  • 50.1% of this water came from Rainbow Lake 

Wastewater:

• Staff  has completed the de-sludgeing of Lagoon #2 at the wastewater treatment plant 

• We received about 1.7 inches of precipitation this month (the average is 3.6 inches)

  • We have exceeded the average precipitation by 0.8" over the last six months.  The average precipitation for the period from August 1 thru January 31 is 22.1" and we have received 22.9" for that period

• Wastewater Treatment:

  • We treated an average of 530,000 gpd (consumed 284,923 gpd) which means that 46% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water"

  • We experienced no spills of untreated sewerage during the month of January

  • We exceeded the plant's design capacity on four days in the Month of January

  • 01/01  1,440,000 gal.;   01/07  1,229,000 gal.;   01/08  1,643,000 gal;       

  • 01/09     819,000 gal.; 

Trash: 

• Trash pickup will remain Monday and Thursday for the Month of January., 2007 

Parks:

• Staff trimmed some trees in Memorial Park

• Staff made repairs to playground equipment in Community Park

• Staff worked with "Playground Specialist" to install new park equipment in Memorial Park
